Linda Barretta
Linda Barretta is a Sonoma County based artist living and working in her native town of Healdsburg California, where she creates vibrant oil paintings that pay homage to the picturesque landscapes that are brought to life with lively colors and strong compositions.
Her venture into the art world began at an early age. Painting became the main creative force in her life in 1975 and she has been inspired by the teachers and mentors that have guided her through the early years of work. Alongside these influential groups and artists, her art education has been mainly self-directed. Her oil paintings today are the result of many hours in the field painting from life, the landscapes of Sonoma County and painting trips beyond that are created in the plein air colorist tradition. She also produces larger paintings in the studio from plein air studies. The impressionist landscapes that she creates today are the direct results that have grown from her love of painting, observing, and a dedication in acquiring the skill to develop and continually fuel her passion to create.
